In recognition of World Patient Safety Day 2025, Black Book Research has unveiled its annual list of technology leaders driving safer hospitals worldwide, honoring Surgical Safety Technologies among the top 10 for its OR Black Box® technology.

Drawing on feedback from more than 3,200 clinicians, executives, and IT leaders, the study spotlighted vendors delivering measurable improvements in patient safety across categories ranging from clinical surveillance and infection prevention to medication safety, surgical analytics, and patient engagement. Evaluations were based on 18 performance indicators, including workflow integration, interoperability, data integrity, clinical outcomes, and innovation. The findings reveal that targeted technologies are helping hospitals reduce adverse events, improve care coordination, and strengthen resilience, with AI-powered surveillance and decision-support tools identified as the fastest-growing investment area for 2026.
